This unique partnership allows us to bring you a true farm-to-table experience. From our pasture-raised heritage-breed beef and pork to eggs and poultry, we prioritize quality, flavor, and sustainable practices in every aspect of our business. A Leader in Organic Agriculture

For more than 25 years, Ayrshire Farm has been a trailblazer in sustainable farming, specializing in raising heritage-breed livestock the right way — with dignity and respect, on nutrient-rich and carbon-sequestering no-till pastures. By using humane, holistic, and regenerative agricultural methods, the farm ensures that not only are livestock happy and healthy, but so is the soil under their hooves.

Ayrshire Farm is unique in the region as a working farm that has met the 21st century with one foot firmly planted in the 19th century. The first farm in Virginia to be Certified Humane®, Certified USDA Organic, and Certified Predator Friendly, Ayrshire Farm raises rare and endangered breeds of cattle, pigs and poultry, including Highland, Ancient White Park and English Longhorn cattle as well as Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and Broad-Breasted Bronze turkeys. By creating a home and a market for these hardy landrace animals, Ayrshire Farm is ensuring their continued survival.

In addition to supplying meats and eggs for Hunter’s Head, Ayrshire Farm also composts all food waste and kitchen scraps from the restaurant at its multi-acre compost site. This is not just a farm-to-table partnership, but farm-to-table-to-farm.
